Job Title: Mechanic
Where: Fort Lewis, WA
Pay Rate: $21.69 per hour
Benefits: $3.16 per hour worked (Health & Welfare)
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm (some overtime and weekends)

Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs a variety of skilled to highly skilled tasks involving minor and major mechanical service and repairs
on military vehicles and equipment (light, medium and heavy).
Job Requirements:
Must have a minimum of 5 years vehicle maintenance experience. Must be knowledgeable in maintenance
of military vehicles and equipment. Must be able to read, understand and follow technical manuals to ensure
proper diagnosis. Ability to read and troubleshoot Electrical and Hydraulic schematics reducing the cost of
replacement versus repair.
Must exercise good judgment, flexibility, creativity and sensitivity in response to changing situations and needs.
Establish, maintain and foster positive and harmonious working relationships with any contacts on a daily basis.
Mentor Automotive Workers on maintenance policies and associated paperwork.
Driving Requirements:
Valid WA State license required, a good driving record and bondable by Skookum’s insurance carrier.
Interview Board:
All internal applicants must have at least 5 years maintenance experience. Applicants will also be screened by
criteria set up specifically for the Interview Board. There is no guarantee of an interview.
