About the Division
Our internal processes seek to reduce maintenance
costs through continuous improvement and extend equipment life by
providing world-class quality services and support. Whether we’re
preparing the Army’s equipment to take our soldiers into combat
or servicing an administrative vehicle for a customer, Skookum’s
maintenance employees apply the same high level of professionalism.
Skookum's Fleet Management Division is committed
to providing safe operational equipment to the customers at Fort
Lewis. We will provide our customers superior service while maintaining
a positive and supportive environment for our workers. We will work
to sustain our future at Fort Lewis by continually improving our
processes and providing our customers‚ quality services and
support, thereby furthering the social mission of the Skookum Corporation.
On a daily basis, our mechanics, autoworkers and
auto helpers perform maintenance on over 40 different models of
equipment that includes generators, 2Kw-100Kw; HMMWV's; 5 Ton trucks;
HEMTT's; material handling equipment; engineer or Construction equipment;
and many more. All Technicians are encouraged to acquire the ability
to work on all of these different models.
At Fleet Management, all of our employees come
together for one common goal -- to provide the best possible product
and service for the soldiers at Fort Lewis. Our Management and Supervisors,
Operations team, Production Control, and Administrative personnel
provide key elements to our division by supporting the mechanics,
autoworkers, auto helpers, and Supply team. The division provides
first class vehicle maintenance services for the United States Army
at Fort Lewis. This includes servicing, repairing and maintaining
equipment in the highest state of combat readiness for the following
special assignments:
- Stryker Brigades
- Stay Behind (equipment left behind)
- Reconstitution (equipment returning from
deployment)
- National Guard and Reserve
- Mobilization (units preparing for deployment)
- Demobilization (units returning from deployment)
- Satellite Unit Support
- Assist unit maintenance personnel
